Advanced Digital Ovulation Test - Peak

How many tests should be administered to establish a good baseline? I took my first test yesterday and was no smiley then tested today coming up as peak, solid smiley. Never saw the flashing smiley. Did I maybe start testing too early/late? I have irregular cycles so struggled deciding when to test. My most recent cycle was 32 days so I went with starting yesterday at CD12.
