Breastfeeding results

What results would I expect using the advanced test while breastfeeding? I have had 7 flashing smiley faces in a row and I wondered if this was common for breastfeeding women and whether I should continue or not. Many thanks

Thanks for getting in touch with us, Helen.  In clinical testing, it was found that breastfeeding affected the reliability of Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation Tests.

Please keep in mind that the number of High Fertility days displayed is personal and may be more or less than two.  This test is different than other ovulation tests in that it tracks the changes in 2 key fertility hormones:  estrogen & LH.  If the necessary changes in estrogen are detected, High Fertility will be displayed.  And if an LH surge is detected, Peak Fertility will be displayed continually for 48 hours.  Once High Fertility is detected, your result will continue to be High Fertility until an LH surge is detected or until tests are missed for 3 consecutive days.

Hope this helps!

I don’t think this response helps? I missed my period and have had 12 days of flashing smileys. One pregnancy test was negative, though. I am still breastfeeding my 24 month old. Is this super long stretch of smileys most likely because of breastfeeding, thus not resulting in a peak fertility period?
