Brush Error symbol won't clear

Question

Today is day nine of my cycle. I started testing yesterday day eight. When I turn on the monitor there is a brush and! Symbol. I have cleaned the testing area with a damp Q-tip and dry tissue. The error symbol will not clear. I also replaced the batteries in case that may have been it. I know I am approaching my high and peak days. Any suggestions?

Thanks for contacting us about the Clearblue Fertility Monitor, Courtney. In addition to cleaning the test stick slot with a damp cotton swab, you can also try cleaning the black button with a dry cotton swab. To avoid urine buildup, it may help to wipe excess urine from test sticks before inserting them.
