Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation Test, can it be used for more than 1 cycle?

I am using the Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation Test. I got a high peak smiley face last month. I still have more strips left over, can I use them in the same monitor/holder as I used last month?

Hi Alexandria!  Yes, you can continue to use your digital holder and any remaining test sticks with your next cycle.  Please keep in mind that you should only use 1 holder for an entire cycle of testing.  So if you run out of test sticks and need to buy a new package, don't switch holders in the midst of your cycle.  If you switch holders part-way through your cycle, you may receive unexpected results.  Sending you lots of baby dust :)

I have been trying a new holder and a holder from last cycle and I’m getting different results. The new holder gave me a flashing smiley face today. The holder from last cycle gave me a solid circle. Are you sure you can use the same holder for more than one cycle? Why would I be getting different results?

Hi Kira,

Yes- the Holder can be used again if you have remaining test sticks. However, we do not recommend to use two Holders to test in one cycle, as the Holder is tracking your hormone changes and it stores this given information. It is possible you may see different results on two different Holders, therefore please use one Holder consistently during one cycle of testing.

Thanks,

Sally

What if I ran out of test strips and needed a new holder? This morning it said high fertility but the new holder now says low fertility. What should I do?

Hi Keyondra,

Please be advised you should use the same Digital Holder consistently during one cycle of testing, as the Holder tracks your hormone changes and stores this information for one cycle. If you run out of test sticks use the original Holder with the new test sticks to complete testing. The new Holder will show you Low Fertility as it has just been introduced and has no previous information from the current cycle.

Hi there, I have 4 ovulation sticks left from last month (advanced ovulation kit). In the above post it says to “buy a new package” if the remaining sticks run out as you shouldn’t use 2 monitors in the same month.

My cycle last month was 27 days but this month it is 24 days... I therefore think I will need more than 4 sticks as my cycle is quite varied at the moment. Can I buy more sticks? I wasn’t sure that I could! Or, do I need to buy another kit but not use the new monitor, only the sticks from it with the old monitor?

Many thanks

Did you ever get an answer to this?

I didn’t get any advice! Using the remaining sticks the next month with the used device didn’t seem to work. However, they may have worked in a new device but then with the new kit you’d have to buy another 20 test sticks anyway. Sorry I couldn’t help!

The product is available as a complete kit with a Holder and either 10 or 20 test sticks.  If you run out of test sticks mid cycle then you'll need to buy a new pack but continue to use the same Holder as that has the information from earlier in your cycle.

Hi,
I have a similar question. I am using clear blue advanced and bought the 10 pack, I need to actually continue testing past 10 days and was wondering if I buy a new pack can I use the test strips that come with that with my current testing device. I understand that if I use a new device it will not have my body’s info stored in it so I am hoping to just buy new sticks to use in my device. Thank you!

Why did the old kit say high fertility yesterday but the new kit say low today?

Hi Stephen.  The new Holder does not have the information from earlier in your cycle.  If you need more test sticks during a cycle of use, we recommend you use test sticks from the new pack but continue with the old Holder for the remainder of the cycle.

Hey, I am using the kit and mid cycle the holder stopped working. Before it did it give me an empty circle then following day it peaked, which is weird. It stick on the solid face ,so I buy a new one and now its just blank circle. Idk what to do or how to read it.

Peak Fertility is designed to remain constantly on the screen for 48 hours.  Have intercourse at any time during this time to maximize your chance of getting pregnant.  Stop testing for this cycle once Peak Fertility has been detected.  The screen will clear after 2 days, and your holder and any remaining test sticks can be saved for use in a future cycle if needed.

Hi Samantha,

If you are suitable to use the test your results will be over 99% accurate (Peak Fertility). We typically expect Ovulation within 24-36 hours of seeing Peak Fertility therefore you can stop testing once peak fertility is seen. As you have carried on testing and saw High Fertility, this can be normal as there is a second rise in estrogen which occurs after Ovulation.

You may use the same Holder in your next cycle with any remaining test sticks as the Holder will reset after 3 or more days of not being used.

Regards,
Sally.

How often can you use an old holder? Do they become more unreliable after a certain number of uses?  Should i be writing the date and throwing after the second use??
