Digital Ovulation Tests

I have been using the Advanced Digital Ovulation Tests for a couple of months now. I have had a problem several times but the first time I was only into 2 days of the test so the store took them back. Two other times, the tester did not turn off even after I put a new stick in to test the next day. These tests are very expensive and I would really like some help understanding what I am supposed to do.

Thank you for your concern - if you would like my address, is there somewhere I can email other wise, I am located in New York. Thank you. Also do you know what I could be doing wrong. I do not get the wet as I use a container but every few packs, they get messed up. Thanks!
