False positive ovulation test due to dye run

Can I get a false positive on the ovulation test..I know I am not supposed to interpret the lines but it looked like maybe there was a dye run..and only one clear line.

Hi Bethany. You can't tell anything from looking at the lines on the test stick - the result can only be read from the digital display. Peak Fertility lasts for 48 hours from the time you first detect it.  Have intercourse at any time during this time to maximize your chance of getting pregnant.  Stop testing for this cycle once Peak Fertility has been detected.

I’m curious if I’m having the same problem with mine.

Hi Molly, what was the outcome? I’m having the same issue and there’s no clarification about due runs and high/peak readings.

ClearBlue, I wish you would respond directly to the issue of dye runs on the tests. I have had 3 solid smiley face results this month. Each of these results came from a dye run. I don’t have hormone issues that lead to multiple surges of LH or estrogen in the months such as PCOS. I was using an alternative ovulation test which seemed to be more coherent in regards to my cycle.I finally did ovulate (confirmed by ultrasound and my alternative ovulation test also reflected ovulation). ClearBlue totally failed me in my attempt to have some reassurance during a stressful time.

Your product is very expensive and you are not responding to this issue that many women seem to be encountering.

what can you tell me about the false positive results given by a dye run?
