Fertility detected before period?

I have a unique situation ... I unfortunately had to have a D&C 11/5 after losing my early pregnancy (6 or 7 weeks along). I had what I believed to be my first period around 6 weeks later, and started testing ovulation as we want to conceive again and the dr said that would be fine. 

I started testing right after my period with normal strips but never got a solid line so I decided to give the advanced digital tests a try. I had sex on the typical day od ovulate after my period, around 14 days or so, despite having no solid line yet, and the next day started spotting. That's also when I tried the clear blue tests. I have been spotting for two days now and have been getting a flashing smiley both days as well with the test. 

It feels like I'm having a period so I was wondering if it's possible to be getting this result if it's actually a period or if the bleeding could be related to ovulation? Late ovulation wouldn't be a surprise as I know people who have also gotten d&c's and ovulated on day 18 after their first periods, but I don't know if I'm having a period or ovulation. Still testing to see if I get a surge but I don't know if it makes sense to or not.
