First time user - followed directions perfectly but test didn't turn on ?

Hi! I tried to use the ClearBlue Advanced Digital Ovulation Test (purple) this morning for the first time. But, even after inserting the test stick multiple times and trying multiple sticks the test did not turn on. I followed the instructions perfectly, lined up the arrows, heard the click...but, nothing. I've now opened three test sticks and wasn't able to test at all this morning (day 7 of my cycle). Any idea why this is happening or how it can be easily fixed so I don't miss this cycle? Thank you!
