Flashing smiley later in cycle (and for a second time)

Question

Hi! I'm using the clear blue ovulation kit advanced (purple one). I normally have the flashing and solid around day 10 of my cycle, and my cycle is usually about 26-28 days long. This month, I had the flashing on day 9 and then solid on day 10 again. I had three sticks left and was curious, so I tested on day 16 (which is today) and I got a flashing smiley. I will probably test again tomorrow because I'm curious, but any idea what this could be? Two ovulations? Pregnancy?

I had the flashing smiley again today, which is day 17 (doesn't make any sense!)

Hi Jessica.  It's just because there is a second estrogen rise after ovulation so it's normal to see this.  It does not indicate two ovulations or pregnancy.  Once you have seen Peak you have found the information you were looking for so we recommend you stop testing and save any remaining test sticks.

Thanks for the information Sally. However, this morning when I tested again it was a solid smiley, indicated a peak (versus a high), for the second time this month. Is that still high estrogren? I thought the peak was recognizing the leuitenizing hormone.

Hi Jessica - We would not expect a second Peak in a cycle.  We'd recommend you discuss your results with your Doctor.  Wishing you all the best!
