Flashing Smiley past 9 days and irregular cycles.

Hi there, I have a question about the Advanced Ovulation Kit. I am 35 years old, not on any fertility meds. My cycles had been on like clockwork up until June when I had a very early miscarriage. Since then my cycles have been irregular ranging from my normal 30 days up to 41 days. This month, I began testing with the OPK on CD11. On CD18 I got a flashing smiley and have continued to get the flashing smiley for the next 9 days (up to CD26 now) and not a Peak indicator at all. I suspect that I did not ovulate this month as I have been temping and charting CM as well and have not had a temp spike. I have read and re-read the instructions about if you see more that 9+ High Fertility days and want to clarify further. My question(s) is, if I have not ovulated this month, will the Advanced OPK still continue to show the flashing smiley if I were to continue testing past the 9+ days? Will the test go back to the empty circle eventually if i have not ovulated? I know the instructions say you can stop after 9+ days of High Fertility but no Peak. I hate to waste the sticks unnecessarily, but on the flip side, I don't want to miss out on a possible late cycle ovulation. Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for your questions and we're sorry for your loss.  Once the Holder is showing High Fertility (flashing smiley face) then it will continue to show High while it looks for Peak.  It will only go back to Low Fertility after Peak has been displayed or if tests are missed for 3 or more days.
If 9 or more High days have been seen then there is a 1% chance of going on to see Peak.  However for a cycle length up to 41 days we'd suggest testing up until day 30 so it's up to you of you want to carry on the for the next few days in case this is  a longer cycle.
Not seeing Peak can be because you didn't ovulate but also could be that the Surge was too short or low for the test to detect and ovulation did happen.  It's therefore recommended that you have sex on High days just in case.  Wishing you all the best!
