High fertility faces after ovulation?

I have been using Clearblue ovulation tests for about 2 years now, not the whole time ttc but I wanted to know if spontanous sex landed on close enough days to know if it was a possibility if I was pregnant or not and also to track my cycles so that when we were ready I knew exactly when to have sex to concieve. Every month I would get 4-5 days of the flashing smiley face (High Fertility), then 2 days of the solid (Peak). The first time ttc we concieved by having sex the day of peak and then 3 days after again. That pregnancy ended in a miscarriage at 6 weeks.
Since then my cycles returned to normal but this month I am very confused, I got a solid smiley face on day 20 (like usual), the next day a 0 (like usual) but the day after that and ever since (days 22-28) I am getting the flashing smiley faces twice a day. Is this just reading estrogen or am I close to ovulating again? Could the elevated estrogen be the beginnings of pregnancy hormones?

Hi, Kaylee - thanks so much for contacting us. The number of High Fertility days displayed each cycle is personal to you and may be more or less than 2.  It’s normal for some women to see more than 2 High Fertility days in all or some of their cycles.

High Fertility will be displayed when an increase in estrogen is detected.  Once High Fertility is displayed, the holder will continue to display High Fertility daily until an LH surge is detected or until tests are missed for 3 consecutive days.   If an LH surge is detected, Peak Fertility will be displayed continually for 48 hours.

We'd be happy to chat if you'd like to talk through your questions.  Feel free to call us at 1-800-321-3279 and mention reference #FB1173.  We're open weekdays from 8:30-5:00 ET.

We look forward to speaking with you!

Ah ha! That makes sense... I could be having slight estrogen after the ovulation and that is what it detected, now it is waiting for the LH surge after the estrogen rises. I just need to quit using them til next time since I know I ovulated. (Fingers crossed this is the last cycle of trying!)

Hi all. I had high fertility for 2 days followed by peak fertility five days ago. I tested again and yesterday and today I have again flashing smiley faces. What does it mean? Is it possible that my previous peak fertility was o incorrect or is the test picking something up now. Very confusing and makes it a bit unreliable. I would really appreciate if you could explain why this could happen. Many thanks!

Hi Paula,

Once Peak Fertility (solid smiley) is seen you should stop testing in the given cycle, as continuing to test can give misleading results. It is normal to see High Fertility (rise in estrogen) after Peak Fertility as there is a second rise in estrogen which occurs after ovulation. To reassure you, if you are suitable to use the test, the Peak Fertility which you previously saw would have been over 99% accurate.

Hi all. This is my first cycle I am registering in the monitor and after 6 days of High Fertility, today is showing the first Peak Fertility.I read on your comment below that I should stop testing once Peak Fertility is seen. However, the monitor is still asking me to continue to test tomorrow...I'm on the 13th day of cycle. Should I continue testing or not?

Many thanks

Hi Oriana,

Once the LH surge (Peak Fertility) is detected, we typically expect ovulation within 24-36 hours. Peak Fertility will be displayed for two consecutive days; the day of the LH surge and the following day. The monitor will then display one day of High Fertility before returning to Low Fertility.

The Clearblue Fertility Monitor will request either 10 or 20 tests in each cycle, which is why although Peak Fertility has been displayed the Monitor will continue to request tests until the current set of 10 have been completed. You may stop testing if you wish, once Peak Fertility is seen.

May I know is it still effective if we have sex at 11.30pm on the second day of solid smiley (both days of solid smileys are detected at 10am morning). We did it once on the night of first smiley and another time mentioned above.

Hi Adrieelle,

Yes - once the LH surge is first detected the next 48 hours is your most fertile, having intercourse during this time maximizes your chances of conception.

Hi,

So i started using opk kits on CD7, i got 3 negative results and then i got a positive cheap opk on CD11 and a lot of cramping, i then got a high clear blue digital ovulation test (flashing face) CD11 evening and some cramping. I had more cramping on Monday too. I continued to do the clear blue digital tests twice a day since CD11 and on CD16 I'm still having flashing smiley face every morning and evening.

Which are the more accurate tests as the cheap opk have veen faint since CD13 but flashing but no peak from Clear blue at all, will I get a peak or have I already ovulated?

I've attached a photo of the cheap opk sticks leading up to my positive result. The bottom stick is today's (CD16) but then ones before are CD7- CD12.

Thanks x

Hi Christie,

We're glad you chose Clearblue to help you on your journey to conceive. Occasionally some women may have an LH surge that is too low for the test to detect, and therefore won't see Peak Fertility.
We can't confirm if the other test has given you a valid LH surge reading, however if you have seen a surge result with another test and not the Clearblue test there can be various reasons for this. Factors such as the urine sample, sensitivity of the test and the time the different tests are taken on can all cause conflicting results. We'd be happy to chat if you'd like to talk through your questions.  Feel free to call us at 1-800-321-3279 and mention reference 001990467A.  We're open weekdays from 8:30-5:00 ET.

Hi, tests where taken at the same time with the same urine. I've just got another positive off the cheap opk this morning so hoping maybe they just picked up my first surge and I'll be due to ovulate and see a peak in the next couple of days.
