I am 7 weeks pregnant and still getting a negative result on the weeks predictor test WHY?

My last period was January 11th. On Feb 9th when my period was due I spotted light pink, and once again the next morning. My period never came. I am definitely pregnant why is it not picking up the hormones.

Thanks for sharing this, Catherine.  If you receive a 'Not Pregnant' result and still suspect you may be pregnant, we recommend waiting 3 days and testing again.  If the next test is still 'Not Pregnant,' you should contact your doctor.  Feel free to give us a call at 1-800-321-3279 if you'd like to talk through questions about your test results.  We're open Monday through Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm Eastern time.

Your welcome. Thanks for your quick response time. I have also found out on sites such as baby center that some women do not show positive on a hpt until further into their pregnancy, some women did not test positive until 6 months, and their pregnancy was only confirmed through blood tests, and ultrasounds. This is helpful for women who are ttc because they will know their situations are not uncommon. The tests say find out as early as 5 days before your missed period which is not always the case. The hormones do not show up until much later than the day of your missed period.

You're welcome Catherine.  When used from the day you expect your period, Clearblue pregnancy tests are more than 99% at detecting pregnancy.  If you receive a negative result and suspect there still is a chance you may be pregnant, it could be that your level of hCG is not yet high enough to be detected, or you may have miscalculated the date of your expected period.  If you receive unexpected results, it's always a good idea to discuss this with your doctor.  Best of luck to you!
