Never get blinking smileys after first cycle of use

The first cycle I use the advanced digital, I get about four days of blinking smileys- then the solid. Then, the next cycle, I never get the blinking, only the solid (at around the same time each month). However, I KNOW my estrogen is high based on cervical mucus/other symptoms. Why do I always get the empty the circle the second month? I also am sure the reading is incorrect because I had my estrogen measured in a blood test (on a medicated cycle) and it was 3,500 (I had five follicles) and it was STILL showing an empty circle- not high estrogen. I'll just go with the regular and skip the advanced if this keeps happening...
