OKP confusion

I am using the purple cap test. On CD 10 I got a solid smiley face indicating peak fertility. However I hadn't gotten a flashing smiley face. So naturally I was confused. While I understand that you "must" stop testing after the solid smiley I thought maybe I had a faulty test so I waited for the smiley face to go away and retested yesterday and got low fertility. I tested again this morning and got another solid smiley. I ejected the stick and found that the test line is so dark that the control line was barely visible. Please advise.

Thanks for contacting us about Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation Tests, Brandy.  The number of high fertility days displayed each cycle may be more or less than 2.  It's unique to you, and it is possible for the holder to change from low fertility to peak fertility without displaying high fertility.  This can happen if your estrogen level is not high enough to be detected by the test, or if the changes in LH & estrogen occur close together.

Regarding your second peak fertility, a woman typically has one LH surge per month.  The only conditions that we know of that can cause multiple LH surges are PCOS and menopausal symptoms.

Lastly, we've made our tests easy-to-read so you don't have to worry about interpreting lines.  Your result should be read from the display and cannot be determined from any lines you may see on the test stick.

If you have other questions, feel free to give us a call at 1-800-321-3279 and mention reference #FB367.  We're open weekdays from 8:30am-5:00pm Eastern time and would be happy to help.  Thanks!
