Positive clearblue ovulations lines 8 days before period

Can your lh strip detect the hcg hormones. Im 8 days away frm period. I also had a positive flashy smiley on ovulation on the 3rd december. When can I test for pregnacy. Keep in mind I had a procedure to see if I had blocked fallopian tubes due to a ectopic I had 2 yrs ago.. everything was fine. Dr said chances are v high within 3 months of ttc.
