Problem with monitor sensing test stick - does this mean it is faulty - and can I trust the reading?

If my monitor is having trouble sensing the test stick, does this mean it may be faulty?  If I take it in and out a few times, then it seems to recognize it.  Also, I did a test today and it read it but when I took out the test stick, it didn't realize it was out.  Therefore, I put it back in, turned it on and then took it out again and it gave me a reading.  Can I trust this reading?

Hi Gina Marie, this can happen if the monitor needs to be cleaned.  Since the monitor read your test stick, the results can be relied upon, but you may continue to experience this each time you use it.
