Solid Smiley Face Before Flashing

I tested yesterday and got a negative but today I got a solid smiley face, which indicates "peak fertility". However, I never got the blinking face prior. Can you advise? My hubby isn't home until tomorrow, so I'm really worried we are going to just barely miss our opportunity here, since eggs live for only about 12 hours. My basil temp increased dramatically today as well. I'm super nervous now.

Hi Stacy! Thanks for getting in touch!

No need to panic. The number of High Fertility days is personal to you and every cycle.

A result like yours can often happen if; the rise in estrogen is either too small for the test to detect, the rise has happened at the same time as your LH surge or testing began to late in your cycle.

If your Peak result is around 12-16 days before your next period then it is where we expect to see it. You can then rely on your result! Having intercourse on the day of your LH surge and the day after will maximise your chances of conception!

The egg can last up to 24 hours so you still have time.

Please also remember that the Peak Fertility result is designed to remain on the screen for 48 hours. So there's no need to keep testing this cycle. Save your test sticks for your next cycle. Good luck!

Thank you! Let's hope tomorrow is in our favor. Fingers crossed! Thank you for this great forum and answering quickly. Another question, since it is a solid simley face, no need to test again until my next cycle, should we not get pregnant, correct?

No problem Stacy. I try my best to answer as quickly as possible.

You're completely right. Save your test sticks for your next cycle if you need them. I've got my fingers crossed for you!

In other words, the peak fertility, doesn't necessarily mean the egg has released. It could mean, that the egg is about the release, correct? I'm still worried that 24 hours is still not going to be enough time. Sigh!

Yes, you're right. The egg is typically released 24 to 36 hours after the LH surge. Once the egg is released then the egg can survive up to 24 hours. So you still have time.
