Using monitor again after time off

I used the monitor several years ago then we decided to hold off on pregnancy. I have started using the monitor again, I replaced the battery and set my m button for the testing window. I expected to have to test on day 6 like I did the first time. However, it did not ask me to test. Do I need to do a hard restart after this long or can I just start over where I left off? I assume the machine remembers from a few years ago????
